Roseland Ballroom

Inspired by this season's revival of the 1940 musical Pal Joey, Roundabout is going to take you on a trip back in time to the heyday of big bands and classic songs in New York City. At our 2009 Spring Gala, Take Me Back to Manhattan, we will recreate a swanky nightclub of the 1930s and 40s featuring the music of the day's great composers: Rodgers, Porter, Arlen, Berlin, Ellington, Gershwin and so many more. For one night only, we will recapture this golden age at Roseland Ballroom with striking d├ęcor, gourmet dinner, a big band and incredible performances. The highlight of the evening will be an original musical revue created by Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall, director and choreographer of The Pajama Game and Grease, featuring today's hottest Broadway stars revisiting the now-classic songs that were the popular hits of the day. All proceeds from this event will benefit Roundabout Theatre Company's Musical Theatre Fund.
